The Heart of Cary Association
Dear Heart of Cary Business or Resident
Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are the Heart of Cary Association, a non-profit 501C3 organization
which has been active in the heart of Cary and downtown for many years. We are dedicated to keeping our
members informed and to being active on those issues affecting the heart of Cary.
New members and new ideas are vital to any organization and to that end we would encourage
you to consider joining the Heart of Cary Association. This website will give
you more information
about our organization's mission, goals
and accomplisments. It also includes an
application for membership.
The Heart of Cary Association meets the first Thursday of every month at 8:00 am in the Chamber
of Commerce building. If you are interested in the heart of Cary and its future, we would encourage
you to join us there.

Our Mission Statement
To preserve and enhance the fundamental character and charm of the heart of Cary while assuring its growth as a vibrant, prospering community of residents and businesses.
Goals
- To foster a cooperative of businesses, residents and government focused on making the heart of Cary a vibrant, successful place to live, shop, dine, play and do business.
- To promote and support the development of a cultural arts center and town center park.
- To maintain open communication with town leaders on the development of more business friendly ordinances and policies.
- To produce a professionally designed brochure advertising retail shops, personal services, entertainment and businesses located in the Town Center Area and owned by members of the Heart of Cary Association.
- To promote development and programs that will enhance the quality of life of the residents of the heart of Cary.
Accomplishments
- Initiated action resulting in the Town of Cary’s adoption of eight business-friendly ordinance amendments.
- Worked closely with the Wake County Public School System to prevent local children from being re-districted out of Cary Elementary School.
- Recognized by the Town of Cary as a key partner in the implementation of the Town Center Area Plan.
- Plans and operates the annual Heart of Cary Ole Time Winter Festival.
- Assists in planning and operation of the Town of Cary’s Spring Days, Lazy Days and Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
